Silly Americans

I think America treated AIDS like it was the end of the world. We did not know what it was. The USA blamed gays, drug users and even small kids who had to use needles. Uganda and Thailand handled it alot better, they treated it like it was cureable. They helped decrease the chances of people getting it, which helped out alot. Uganda and Thailand actually disscused it with their locals, while America was stuck in a fear zone, where the politicians were afraid to talk about it. America took the back seat, and just watched it unfold is how i see it. We did not even tell the people to use protection, once we did know what it was.

  1. I feel the same exact way. The US freaked out and by doing that, it clearly doesn't help to find a cure. People were ignorant to the point where houses were burnt down and cops wore gloves at all times. Uganda and Thailand let information out when they were educated on AIDS and US acted as if the world was going to end completely.
